Rebels notch comeback victory at Tullahoma

The Franklin County Rebels beat the Tullahoma Wildcats 49-44 on the road Tuesday for their seventh win of the season.
The Rebels rallied from a 15-point halftime deficit to take the lead in the fourth quarter and overcame a slight deficit in the final three minutes to complete the comeback.
The score was close throughout the opening period with the Wildcats jumping out to a two-possession lead by the end of the quarter.
The Rebels trailed 17-12 after one quarter.
A layup by Kai Baker gave the Rebels their only points of the second quarter as the Wildcats seemed to be in complete control early.
Franklin County trailed 29-14 at halftime.
The Rebels allowed just three points in the third quarter as they steadily chipped away at the deficit and ended the period with nine straight points to make it a two-point game.
They trailed 32-30 going into the final period.
The Rebels took their first lead since the opening period with about seven minutes remaining on a shot by Baker to make it a 36-35 game.
The Rebels led by as many as four points in the fourth quarter before the Wildcats jumped back in front by a score of 44-42 midway through the period. However, the deficit wouldn’t last long as Ke’Andre Johnson tied the score on a layup with 2:40 remaining.
Baker gave the Rebels the lead once more on a free throw with about 90 seconds to play, and Kenyon Fuqua added a 3-point play with 37 seconds left to put the Rebels up by a score of 48-44 late.
The Wildcats wouldn’t be able to score again in the time remaining, and Kaleb Rigsby added one more point to the tally on a free throw to put the final deficit at five.
Baker led the Rebels with 18 points for the game, followed by Fuqua with 10 points and Johnson and Rigsby with seven points each.
Sam Vincent scored four points, Ethan Stephens scored two and Jacob Sanchez scored one.
With the win, the Rebels improved to 7-10 on the season.
They will next play Tuesday at Madison County High School. Tip-off is scheduled for 7:30 p.m.
