The Franklin County High School boys wrestling team competed in a home meet Thursday against the teams of Forrest and Moore County.
The Rebel wrestlers won both of the duals for the meet with additional exhibition matches being held to accommodate the smaller roster sizes for the other two teams.
The Rebels beat the Moore County Raiders by a score of 48-6 as they picked up two wins on the mat in the dual.
Eli McLean picked up a pinfall victory in the 132-pound division in 3:15, and SI Marin followed later in the meet with a pinfall win in 3:27 for six points in the 182-pound division.
Cristian Fravel, Kaiden Odell, Alexander Murphy, Bennie McTier, Zaelyn Smith and Tagg Jones added forfeit victories for six points each.
On the other side of the meet, the Rebels beat the Forrest Rockets by a score of 42-18 due in large part to their superior numbers.
The Rockets won both of the head-to-head matches for the dual, but forfeit wins by Fravel, McLean, Stevens, Marin, McTier, Smith and Jones gave the overall victory to Franklin County.
In exhibition matches held throughout the day, Fravel picked up a pair of pinfall victories as he pinned his opponents from Moore County in 52 seconds for the first match and 1:17 in the second.
Jathan Payne also picked up a pinfall victory in an exhibition match against a Moore County opponent in 1:28.
On the girls side, the Rebelettes didn’t have anyone from the other schools to wrestle against, but they did have a few exhibition matches against each other.
Alyssa Archer grabbed a pinfall victory over teammate Jocelyn James in 1:22, and Zulema Martinez caught Julieta Garcia-Alonzo’s shoulders to the mat in 43 seconds.
Sakura Call also got a pin for the day as she beat Garcia-Alonzo in 4:22 during the last girls match of the night.
