As a fun way to get into the spirit of spring, a food-truck competition and extravaganza will be held at Tims Ford State Park on March 18.

Prizes will be awarded to the top three vendors, and winners will be given a fully or partially discounted commercial-use permit to sell their products at Tims Ford State Park for a full year.

Food trucks at the park have been extremely popular in the past. The public, park guests and campers all frequent the food trucks parked at Tims Ford and enjoy the food, beverages and treats served. 

The competition will run from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. on March 18, and food-truck vendors are expected to serve sample sizes of one item on their menu.

After the competition has come to a close, vendors are welcome to sell all items on their menus at full price. All money raised is to be dispersed evenly between the food-truck vendors. 

Non-truck vendors selling food or other approved goods may contact the park regarding a table/booth space. There is no fee for these vendors, but they will not be included in the food-truck competition.

There will also be live music during the event. Interested bands or musicians may also contact the park office to fill out an application to be one of the musical acts.
