Rebelettes fall to Tullahoma in home contest

The Franklin County Rebelettes lost to the Tullahoma Lady Wildcats 13-7 at home Friday for their 20th loss of the season.
The Rebelettes fell behind early in the contest with the Wildcats pulling away in the middle innings to seal the loss.
The Lady Wildcats scored a pair of runs in the top of the first, but the Rebelettes countered with two scores of their own in the bottom half of the inning on RBI groundouts by Jocilyn DeSmet and Alyssa Sherrill.
However, the Lady Wildcats scored two more times in the top of the second and added three runs in the top of the fourth to make it a 7-2 game.
The Rebelettes got one of those runs back in the bottom of the fourth on an RBI single by Caroline Powers, but the Lady Wildcats pulled away with a five-run frame in the top of the fifth to put the score at 12-3.
The Rebelettes put a dent in the deficit in the bottom of the fifth as Jocilyn DeSmet hit an RBI single, and Sherrill followed with a three-run home run to pull Franklin County back to within five runs.
However, the Rebelettes weren’t able to score again while the Lady Wildcats added one more run to their tally to place the final deficit at six.
With the loss, the Rebelettes moved to 4-20 on the season.
They will next play Tuesday at home in a doubleheader against Coffee County Central High School. First pitch for the first game is scheduled for 5:30 p.m.
