Throughout the month of May, especially the week of May 8-12, the Tennessee Department of Education invites all Tennesseans to celebrate Teacher Appreciation Month and will highlight all the impactful work teachers are doing across the state. 

 Teacher Appreciation Month is held to recognize Tennessee teachers for their tireless dedication to students.

Anyone who wishes to share why they love their current or previous teacher can do so using the hashtag “TNSupportsTeachers” on social media. Everyone is encouraged to participate to thank a great teacher.

Current teachers who want to share why they love teaching may use the hashtag “WhyTeachTN.”
