Family and Friends July Fourth Reunion at Winchester Park featuring free concert by Amylase
What started out as an idea for fun things to do on July 4 has turned into quite an exciting family event coming up at the Winchester City Park, 1850 Phillip Fulmer Parkway, Winchester.
The event, “Family & Friends July Fourth Reunion,” will be held at Pavilion #3 featuring the band Amylase playing from 5-8 p.m. Bring the entire family out starting at 3 p.m. to enjoy delicious food from the Wild Card food truck that will be serving up lots of great food from sliders to grilled pimento cheese sandwiches and Hawaiian sausage, pineapple skewers and more from 3 p.m. until the end of the event.
Come out early to enjoy family-reunion-style music starting at 3 p.m. where area musicians can bring instruments and join in to jam. Cornhole boards will be set up for everyone to enjoy. Tables will also be set up inside the pavilion to encourage families to bring games such as Rook, checkers, dominos or other amusements to play while relaxing and hanging out with friends and neighbors.
Bring a chair or blanket to spread out and watch the concert that starts at 5 p.m. and stay for the amazing Thunder over the Lake fireworks show hosted by Twin Creeks Marina and the City of Winchester. The park is a prime viewing spot.
There is no cover charge for the Amylase band performance. There will be a tip jar for the band as well as a table and information on the Kiwanis Club and their charitable missions.
Any and all tips and donations will be greatly appreciated by the band. Any donations for the Kiwanis Club will go toward Meals on Wheels for seniors, the Santa’s Workshop Kid’s Toy Drive and upcoming music events on the downtown Winchester Kiwanis Stage.
A great idea comes together
Smith Bros. Car Wash, in partnership with the Franklin County Kiwanis Club, is presenting the big afternoon bash at the park.
The owners of Smith Bros. Car Wash are Bobby and Kera Lenard of Nashville, who are also part-time residents of Franklin County. They enjoy the local fare and music and are super fans of the local band Amylase.
After finding out there was no band playing at the Winchester Park on the Fourth of July, they suggested a free July 4 benefit concert that would also benefit the Kiwanis Club’s mission while promoting one of their favorite bands.
In addition to the Kiwanis Club members, other local folks signed on to promote the event including Yvonne Stewart with the City of Winchester, the Franklin County Chamber of Commerce and some other very generous people. The event is produced by Splendor Ridge Events. For information, contact Traci D. Goodman at 931-691-7356.
About Amylase
Amylase band members Tony Goodman, Fuzz Robinson and Russell Fann grew up on all genres of music and have been particularly influenced by outlaw rock and country.
The band has been together for a little over a year, but fans say their professional level of musicality, cohesive sound and compatibility reflects a much more aged experience.
Amylase plays a grand variety of all of your favorites from across the decades. The band members are honored to be asked to participate in this concert to benefit the local charities and to give back to the community that has been so good to them.
