Hornet golfers take on Forrest, Moore County at Bear Trace

The Huntland High School boys golf team competed in a nine-hole match Tuesday at the Bear Trace at Tims Ford against the teams of Moore County and Forrest.
The Hornet golfers finished third in the team standings of the match with a group score of 227 for the day.
The Moore County Raiders picked up a close victory for the day as they tallied a score of 186 to finish a single stroke ahead of the Forrest Rockets.
Lucas Freeman recorded the best individual score of the day for the Hornets as he completed the course in 52 strokes.
Teammate Landon Farmer was right behind Freeman with a score of 53 for the day, and Kamden Smith also ended the day with a score below 60 as he shot a 58 for the course.
Carson Riley provided the final contributions to the Hornets’ team score as he finished the match with a score of 64.
Rounding out the field for the Hornets in the match were Maddux Riley with a score of 66 and Chandler Banks with a mark of 70.
The Hornet golfers will next compete Monday in a nine-hole match at the Pebble Creek Golf Club. The match is scheduled to begin at 4 p.m.
