Rebel golfers tie Shelbyville in home match

The Franklin County High School boys and girls golf teams competed in a nine-hole match Wednesday at the Bear Trace at Tims Ford against the teams of Shelbyville and Lincoln County.
The Rebel golfers finished tied with the Shelbyville Central Golden Eagles for the top spot in the boys standings as both teams finished the match with a total score of 182. Lincoln County followed with a mark of 198 for the day.
Chase Towry recorded a score of 40 for the day to lead the Rebels and all individuals for the match.
Jackson Lynch was next in line for the Rebels as he ended his nine holes for the match with a mark of 44.
Evan Lynch carded a score of 48 for the match to help the cause for the Rebels as well.
Brody Metcalf, Garrett Patterson and Easton Walker all ended the day with equal scores of 50 to round out the performances for the Rebels.
In the girls half of the match, the Rebelettes finished second with a combined score of 102 while the Lincoln County Lady Falcons beat them with a mark of 83. Shelbyville had just one girls golfer in action and did not qualify for the team standings.
Amelia Maxon completed the course in 49 strokes for the Rebelettes, and Savana Pendergraff was close behind with a score of 53 for the day.
The FCHS boys and girls golf teams will next compete Thursday in a nine-hole match at the Saddle Creek Golf Club against the teams of Marshall County. The match is scheduled to begin at 4 p.m.
