Cowan event hits 10-year milestone
Rainfall on Saturday morning threatened the 10th annual Fall Heritage Festival in Cowan, but sunny skies broke through that afternoon, and the overall weather became quite pleasant with the feeling of crisp fall in the air.
The festival extended from Friday through Sunday in downtown Cowan and was attended by hundreds.
While the festival is engaging for the community and local businesses, it also serves as a fundraiser for the Cowan Railroad Museum.
“The Fall Heritage Festival is a celebration of life in the foothills of the Cumberland Plateau, engaging regional communities through the educational and inspirational experience of history, music, art, and civic involvement,” the festival’s dedicated website says.
The Fall Heritage Festival is free to the public, made possible through generous donations from local patrons and businesses.
Many food vendors, arts-and-crafts stands, specialty-item shops and interactive booths as well as live music were among the attractions available at the festival.
Fireworks were set off on Friday and Saturday night for public enjoyment.
