BOND LITTLE JR.
LITTLE, Bond (Harvey) Jr., of Winchester passed away on Saturday, Oct. 14, 2023, at the age of 82. He was born on Feb. 5, 1941, in Vicksburg, Mississippi, to the late Bond Harvey Little Sr. and Mildred Wilkinson Little of Jackson, Tennessee. He was an active part of Franklin County for over 60 years, being a Mason, Winchester Rotarian, Jaycee, Franklin County Chamber of Commerce and Insurers of Tennessee. He was a partner and agent of Garner, Little and Crenshaw and later worked for V. R. Williams & Co. He loved playing golf and teaching youth the sport and sharing time with family and friends. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister-in-law, Jean Garrett. Harvey is survived by his wife of 40 years, Linda Little; sons, Bond Harvey Little III “Trey” and Timothy Scott “Scottie” Little; stepdaughter, Teena Waggoner and husband, Charles “Chuck” Waggoner, all of Winchester; his cat and best friend, Buddy; brothers, Steve (Christy) Little and Greg (Karen) Little, both of Jackson Tennessee; brother-in-law, James Garrett of Winchester; grandchildren, Bond Harvey (April) Little IV of Florida, Celeste (Stuart) Knapper of Winchester, Alex Little of Chattanooga and Drew and Matt Waggoner of Winchester; great-grandchildren, Noah Knapper and Parks Knapper of Winchester, and Charlotte Little and Bond Harvey Little V, both of Florida; and many nieces and nephews. SOLOMON, Bessie “Bonnie” Katherine, age 94, of Winchester, passed away peacefully on Sunday, Oct. 22, 2023, while surrounded by her loving family. Bessie was born on May 23, 1929, in Winchester, Tennessee, to the late Jimmie Clarence and Elvera Lillian (Brasier) Rolman. She retired from Jack Daniels as a line laborer in the bottling division. Bessie will be remembered by her family as a loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Marvin Solomon and brother, James Rolman. MARY ARNOLD
ARNOLD, Mary Jane Ashby, age 75, born on March 1, 1948, left this cruel world on Saturday, Oct. 21, 2023, after a long battle with cancer. Mary Jane loved her family, friends, playing cards, watching cooking shows, the Game Show Network and her cat, but most of all she loved her grandchildren and her son, Jeff. Mary Jane worked for Dr. Cantrell straight out of high school and then for Dr. Marlin Hicks. She loved working for these two great eye doctors. She often said she learned a lot, but she truly loved her patients. Mary Jane spent many years as a faithful follower of A&A Racing to support her son, Jeff and bonus son, Jerry Ashley. She absolutely adored life and enjoyed watching her kids and grandkids on all of their adventures. Mary Jane was preceded in death by her parents, J.W. and Jennie Mae Ashby; husband, Richard Arnold; and brother, Lester Dwight Ashby. She is survived by her son, Jeff (Jennifer) Arnold of Huntland; grandsons, Christian and Jeremy Arnold of Huntland; sister-in-law, Judy Ashby of Fayetteville; cat, Stubby; and numerous bonus kids, nieces, nephews and friends. ALTON LEWIS
LEWIS, Alton “Buddy” Richard, age 89, of Winchester, Tennessee, passed away on Thursday, Oct. 19, 2023, at his residence. Buddy was born on Jan. 21, 1934, in Franklin County, Tennessee, to the late Roy Madison and Rosie Mae (Riddle) Lewis. He retired from Tennessee Tannery as a lead supervisor after many years of service. Following his retirement, he enjoyed tending to his grapevines and acre garden. He would make sure those in his family and community were served with fresh vegetables. On rainy days, he would watch westerns and on Sundays, NASCAR, cheering on Jeff Gordon and Jimmy Johnson. He will be remembered by his family as a simple man who looked after others. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his life partner, Laura Lewis and siblings Roy Junior Lewis, Mary Lee “Minnie” Holt and Claborn “Cooner” Lewis. Buddy is survived by his daughters, Gail (David) Hambrick, Betty (Mickey) Bradford and Kim (Mark) McClure; eight grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren, six great-great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. MARTIN, William Dean (Bill), age 79, of Lynchburg, Tennessee, passed away on Friday, Oct. 20, 2023, on his farm while doing what he loved. He was a caring husband, loving father, doting grandfather and extremely loyal friend. Bill was a 35-year veteran educator and coach who found fulfillment leading others in sports and in life. He invested his time in his community, often showing up for friends in their greatest times of need. He was known for his quick wit and wisdom, booming voice and entertaining stories. His greatest love was his family and his Lord, Jesus Christ. He adored his wife, Sherry, and they shared 53 wonderful years together. After a long day of working on the farm, Bill could be found watching his grandchildren at their sporting events or watching westerns with his grandson. He was a lifelong member and servant of Booneville United Methodist Church until they closed their doors when he began attending Oak Hill Baptist. He will be greatly missed. Bill was preceded in death by his parents, Howard and Delorice Martin. He is survived by his wife, Sherry; three children, Stacie (Rob) Newton, Andrew (Diana) Martin and Megan (Wes) Frazier; grandchildren, Julia, Caleb and Allie Grace Newton, Isabella and Hannah Martin and Annesley, Ella and Charlotte Frazier. WEDDINGTON, Betty Ann, age 90, of Winchester, passed away peacefully on Saturday, Oct. 21, 2023, while surrounded by her loving daughters. Betty was born on April 20, 1933, in Franklin County, to the late Jonathan Curtis and Bonnie Stella (Lewis) Wiseman. She was a devoted homemaker who enjoyed sewing dresses for her daughters, cooking incredible meals for her family and friends and working faithfully in her gardens. In her spare time, Betty enjoyed shopping, reading historical books and watching the History Channel or PBS. She has a fondness for animals in need. Betty was a supporter of the Salvation Army and the American Red Cross. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Wiley Jackson Weddington, Jr. and brothers, Charles Wiseman and Joe Wiseman. HULON HALL
HALL, Hulon Leavern, age 87 of Tullahoma, died on Monday, Oct. 23, 2023, at Vanderbilt University Medical Center while surrounded by his loving family. He was born on Dec. 3, 1935, in Franklin County, Tennessee. He is a retired sergeant for the Winchester Police Department, former veteran of the Tennessee National Guard and member of the Experience Community Church of Tullahoma. He was a loving husband, father and grandfather. He loved the Lord and enjoyed singing in church. Hulon was preceded in death by his parents, Alvie and Lola Hall. He is survived by his wife, Mary Alice Floyd Hall; son, Brian (Kelly) Hall; stepsons, Michael (Becky) Simpson, Mark Simpson and Myles (Tearsa) Simpson; nine grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and his first wife, Charlotte Hall.
