Gatorettes take home loss to Warren County

The North Middle School Gatorettes lost to the Warren County Lady Pioneers 48-20 at home Thursday for their fifth loss of the season.

The Gatorettes fell behind by double digits early in the game, and a scoreless fourth quarter sealed the blowout loss for their fourth straight defeat.

North’s Macie Davis hit a 3-pointer to open the scoring in the contest, but the Lady Pioneers didn’t allow any more points in the first quarter.

The Gatorettes trailed 17-3 after one quarter.

The Gatorettes found their offensive rhythm in the second quarter as they were able to make up a small amount of ground on the scoreboard.

They trailed 29-16 at halftime.

The Gatorettes were limited to just four total points in the third quarter as the deficit grew to 39-20 going into the final period.

The Lady Pioneers held the Gatorettes off the scoreboard for the entire fourth quarter as the final deficit settled at 28 points.

Airiana Hill led the Gatorettes with seven points for the game, followed by Keira Turner with four points and Davis, Shekinah Miller and Shayla Burnette with three points each.

With the loss, the Gatorettes moved to 2-5 on the season.

They will next play on Nov. 30 at home against East Middle School. Tip-off is scheduled for 6 p.m.
