HOWARD ELLIOTT

Hey, y’all, I’ve made it! It’s just as pretty as everyone said it would be! My Mama Minnie Lee Elliott and Daddy John Thomas Elliott; grandson, Andy Hampton; and my siblings, Sue Ellen Elliott, Catherine Gallager, Paul Elliott, Helen Freeman, Bill Elliott, Minnie Pearl Gilliam, Faye Miller and Jimmy Elliott were all waiting for me at those pearly gates to give me a hug once they saw me. It’s so peaceful here; it’s free of pain, fear, and heartache and no more tears, only happiness plowing these fields of Heaven. All you have to do to get here is believe that God sent his son for us to be free. My beautiful wife, Linda Elliott of 61 years; my daughters, Grace (Roger) Hampton and Paula Rollins; grandsons, Robby Howell and Dakota Rollins; great-grandbabies, Layla Faye Rollins and Taygan Paul Rollins; sisters, Nancy (Melvin) Pogue and Martha Fletcher; brother, Roy Elliott; sisters-in-law, Janet (Thomas) Harding and Debbie Clark Hall; and brother-in-law, Robert Miller. I sure do have a lot of nieces and nephews, too many for me to count. I worked well over 50 years for Benson’s, better known as The Vincents. I started out as a milker, then farmed the land and feeding the cats outside. They had to eat too! I was always hanging out at the local CO-OP. I had to supervise the boys down there. I loved watching the wrestling, westerns and the Three Stooges as well. Mowing the yard on my zero turn, yard sales and car rides were a few favorites too. Getting my belly full at Marvin’s with the family was always good. Having a cup of coffee and/or chocolate ice cream was nice as well. Y’all know me and my sense of humor, for I’m merely 21 as I’m a leap-year baby! You know, when they’d change me, I would tell them, “Y’all better be careful; it feels like y’all are stripping my gears…” I enjoyed the 50s music you played for me as it made me want to dance. You know I loved everybody, and I loved big, but sometimes my worrying was mistaken for being negative more times than you may count. Watching for them deer was one of those things I really worried about. My brother Roy and I would fuss like brothers do. When one of us would go to the hospital, we’d tell each other, “Love you.” When we’d get back home, we’d get back to our old ways, such as calling each other baldy. I know my family would egg on things just to hear us two argue… I just know they thought it was funny, but it would be alright. It’s time for me to go be safe. I’ll be waiting for you all. Don’t think I’ll forget anyone’s birthdays; I’ll be singing “Happy Birthday” from Heaven. Love you all, Howard Willis Elliott “Bugar” Born: February 29, 1940 Passed: April 22, 2026 Visitation was held on Saturday, April 25, 2026, at Watson Funeral Home from 4-8p.m.andagainonSunday, April 26, 2026, from 1-2 p.m. Funeral services were held on Sunday, April 26, 2026, at 2 p.m. in the Roy B.
