SAMPLE, Tracy

Leigh, age 62 of Estill Springs, passed away on Thursday, April 23, 2026, at his residence surrounded by his loving family. A native of Franklin County, he was born in Winchester on June 26, 1963, to the late Charles and Sara (Clark) Sample. Until his retirement, he was employed as a steel worker at RBM Steel. Tracy enjoyed being outdoors, whether it was fishing, camping or being on the farm with his brother. He was an avid NASCAR fan, cheering for Dale Earnhardt, and loved to attend the Talladega race. He cherished the time with his beloved family and was the best “Papa.” His outgoing personality, combined with his loving nature will be dearly missed. A devoted Christian, he was a member of Cumberland Presbyterian Church in Estill Springs. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers, John Sample and Kevin Sample. Tracy is survived by his loving wife of 30 years, Grace Sample; children, Darrell Sample, Stephanie King, Amber King, Payten Sample and Jayce Sample; grandchildren, Acyon King, Kylie King, Astarya Hendon and Skyler King; great-grandchild, Madelynn King; stepchildren, Donald Duke and Zach Duke; siblings, Sara (Allen) Stephens, Cathy Rackley, Charles (Jennie) Sample, Becky Carr and Thomas (Nancy) Sample; and several nieces, nephews and extended family members. Visitation will be from 12-1 p.m. on Saturday, May 2, 2026, at Moore-Cortner Funeral Home. Funeral services will follow at 1 p.m. in the chapel of Moore-Cortner Funeral Home with Bro.
