FC track teams excel at Tullahoma, Howard meets

The Franklin County High School boys and girls track and field teams competed in the Rudy Hensel Classic Saturday at Tullahoma High School.
The Franklin County athletes combined for 49 top-five finishes at the meet, including 19 first-place performances and 37 placements inside of the top three of events.
One of the highlights for Franklin County was Brandon Walker setting a new school record in the boys 110-meter hurdles with a time of 15.79 seconds.
In the group standings, the Franklin County boys finished first out of five teams with a score of 224.5 points for the day, beating Tullahoma by 69 points for the top spot.
The Franklin County girls also claimed a team championship for the meet as they accumulated 163 points to finish first out of six squads. Rhea County was the girls runner-up with 149 points.

FC track at Howard
The FCHS boys and girls track and field teams competed in a meet on April 8 at The Howard School.
The Franklin County athletes recorded 48 total top-10 finishes for the meet, including nine first-place performances and 36 placements inside of the top five of events.
The Franklin County boys finished first out of 12 teams in the group standings as their score of 150.5 points put them 12.5 points ahead of Cleveland for the top spot.
The Franklin County girls settled for a secondplace finish out of 12 teams with 109 points for the day. St. Andrew’s-Sewanee finished first in the girls standings with 143 points.
