Middle schools advance 20 athletes to sectionals
The track and field teams of North and South middle schools competed in the Region 3AA championship meet Saturday at Soddy Daisy High School.
The top four finishers in each event advanced to the Section 2AA meet with 20 total local athletes meeting that qualifying standard for the day.
The North Gators and Gatorettes had 10 athletes earn qualifying berths across nine events, and the South Trojans and Lady Trojans matched that total with 10 athletes advancing across four events.
