Legends of the Cherokee
Everyone is invited to see a program by the Bright Star Theater Group called “Legends of the Cherokee” on Friday at 10 a.m. at the Franklin County Library, 105 South Porter Street, Winchester.
Blood drive
An American Red Cross blood drive will be held Friday from 1-7 p.m. at Winchester Church of Christ, 1230 South College St., Winchester.

Chili cook-off
Winchester Christian Academy will host a chili cook-off tasting and fundraiser on Saturday from 1-4 p.m. at 1230 South College Street, Winchester.
Rocktober
Everyone is invited to Rocktober, a police-benefit concert and side-by-side show, Saturday from 6-10 p.m. at Monterey Station, 104 Monterey Mills Street in Cowan. Concert admission is $20 for general admission, $15 for students and $10 for children younger than 10 years.
UDC
The UDC Kirby-Smith Chapter 327 Sewanee will meet Saturday at 11:15 a.m. at the Oak Restaurant in Manchester.
Fish fry
The Belvidere Firemen’s fish fry will be held Saturday from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the Belvidere Community Center, 349 Belvidere Road in Belvidere. Enjoy live bluegrass music. Enjoy all you can eat fish, barbecue chicken, chicken strips, homemade desserts and sides. Cost is $15 for adults, $5 for ages 4-12 and free for children younger than 4. A tractor pull will be held free at the same location starting at noon.
Trail of Tears walk
A Trail of Tears Commemorative Walk will be held Saturday starting at 11:30 a.m. at Old Cowan Road Park, 200 Wilson Street in Winchester. The 0.8 mile-walk ends at Franklin County Library at 12:30 p.m. with demonstrations and presentations through 4 p.m. Cherokee storyteller Bo Tayler will share stories at 1:30 p.m. The library will be open extended hours.
Chili cook-off
The annual Fire on the Mountain Chili Cook-off will be held on Saturday from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Hannah Pickett Park in Monteagle. Enjoy arts and crafts and children’s activities. Sample chili for $5. Email info@southcumberlandchamber.com or call 931-924-5353 for information.
Tool and Craft Sale
The Tennessee Valley Woodworker’s annual Tool and Craft Sale is Saturday from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. in the New Parish Hall at St. Barnabas Episcopal Church, 110 E. Lincoln St., Tullahoma. Come and shop for pre-owned tools and handmade crafts just in time for holiday gift-making and gift-giving.

Pet food drive
A pet food drive will be held on Tuesday for Animal Harbor. Drop off food at About Town Apparel, 301 South College St., Winchester, and CJ’s Coffee Barn, 302 Dinah Shore Blvd., Winchester. Types of food accepted include dry Purina and wet Fancy Feast for cats and Purina and Pedigree for dogs.

The Franklin County Health Department will offer free flu vaccines to the public beginning Nov. 1. No appointment is needed.

Bonfire night
The Franklin County Republican Party will hold its annual bonfire night honoring Congressman Scott DesJarlais on Nov. 2 at 5:30 p.m. at the Davis farm located at 804 South Main St. in Estill Springs. Enjoy music, a barbecue dinner, speeches and more. This event is free to the public. Donations will be appreciated.

The Tennessee Highway Patrol will conduct a sobriety checkpoint on Nov. 3 at 9 p.m. at Awalt Road and Mansford Road.

All-Seasons Craft Show
The 11th annual All-Seasons Craft Show will be held Nov. 3 from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Nov. 4 from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Townsend Cultural Center, 910 South Shepherd St., Winchester, featuring vendors and food trucks. Animal Harbor Goes Hollywood
Everyone is invited to dress as a favorite movie character and join in for a star-studded fundraising night, “Animal Harbor Goes Hollywood,” on Nov. 4 from 6-9 p.m. at Monterey Station in Cowan. Activities include an exclusive cigar-and-whiskey porch, red-carpet photos, DJ music through the decades, swing-dance demonstrations and fancy food stations. Cost is $65 each, $85 with a T-shirt, $130 for couples or $170 for couples and two T-shirts. VIP tables are $550 for eight tickets and a VIP experience. Proceeds go to Animal Harbor’s mission.
SBCO charitable event
The Sportsmen and Businessmen’s Charitable Organization will host its annual charitable event on Nov. 4 from 5:30-10 p.m. at the Manchester Coffee County Conference Center. The second annual Tis the Season will be held in downtown Winchester on Nov. 24 from 3-8 p.m. featuring a performance by HunterGirl, live reindeer and Highland cattle, a live nativity scene, a kid zone, an enchanted tree path with character meet and greets, a Christmas trail and a community treelighting. Events are free. Vendor spaces are available to purchase.

Manchester Christmas Parade
The Manchester Christmas Parade will be held on Nov. 25 at 6:30 p.m. starting on the McMinnville Highway in Manchester and ending at Fred Deadman Park in Manchester. The theme is “Christmas at the Movies.”

Trees of Christmas
