Gospel singing
A gospel singing will be held Saturday 2 at 6 p.m. at Krystal, 2540 Decherd Blvd., Decherd, featuring God’s Creation and Solomon’s Porch as well as a puppet show. Everyone is welcome.
Sept. 3
Marble Plains Baptist
Rev. Roger Parks of Winchester has been called to serve as interim pastor of Marble Plains Baptist Church following the retirement of long-time pastor Rev. Jack Hice. Rev. Parks will begin his official duties Sunday. The church is located at 525 Marble Plains Road, just inside Tims Ford State Park.

Family Stories series
Everyone is invited to a special Family Stories series featuring guest speakers at the Winchester Church of Christ auditorium located at 1230 South College St., Winchester. Dates, speakers and topics include: Sept. 6, Ralph Gilmore of Woodbury, “Addiction Affects all the Family”; Sept. 13, Steve Lusk of Chattanooga, “Building a Legacy of Faithfulness”; Sept. 20, Dale Jenkins with The Jenkins Institute, Nashville, “The Secret of Raising Great Kids,”; and Sept. 27, Matt Cook with Freed-Hardeman University, “Curveball – When your Family Faces the Unexpected.”
Sept. 9
Food distribution
Morton Memorial Church, 322 West Main St., Monteagle, will hold a curbside food distribution on Sept. 9 from 8-10 a.m. Volunteers will assist.
Gospel Music Fest
The 17th annual Huntland Gospel Music Fest will be held Sept. 9 starting a 5 p.m. at the Huntland City Park, featuring 11th Hour, Sims Family and The Gardners. A $10 donation is suggested at the gate. A love offering will also be taken.
Sept. 10
Singing
Everyone is invited to a singing featuring Glory Echoes on Sept. 10 at 10:30 a.m. at Huntland Missionary Baptist Church, 306 Alabama St., Huntland. A fellowship meal will follow the singing.
Sept. 12
Interdenominational Bible study
All women are invited to join in for Bible Study Fellowship International to study the Gospel of John on Sept. 12 at 9:30 a.m. at Winchester First United Methodist Church, 100 South Jefferson St., Winchester. This is an interdenominational event joining thousands of groups that will be meeting in more than 120 counties. Sept. 16
Singing
Paynes Baptist Church, 2545 Paynes Church Road, Estill Springs, will hold a gospel bluegrass singing featuring the Sims Family, The Modesitt Family, Final Crossing and Payne’s local talent on Sept. 16 at 5 p.m. The event will be held outside. Bring a lawn chair. A fellowship meal will follow.
