Rebelettes rout Madison County for road victory

The Franklin County Rebelettes beat the Madison County Lady Tigers 55-35 on the road Tuesday for their seventh win of the season.
The Rebelettes opened up a big lead in the second quarter and never looked back as they picked up a blowout victory to snap a four-game losing streak.
The score was kept close in the opening period with the Rebelettes staking themselves to a small early advantage. Madison King scored eight of Franklin County’s 15 points in the first quarter.
They led 15-11 after one quarter.
The Rebelettes maintained their early offensive pace in the second quarter while allowing just two points on defense in the period to grow their advantage to double digits.
They led 31-13 at halftime.
The deficit was steady throughout the third quarter as the Rebelettes were able to add another point to their lead.
They led 43-24 going into the final period.
The Rebelettes continued to maintain a solid lead for the rest of the contest with the final deficit settling at an even 20 points.
King led the Rebelettes with 18 points for the game, followed by Shayla Kennerly with eight points and Paislie Edge with seven.
Na’Kayjah Holman and Baylor Russell scored six points each, Danica Stovall scored four, and Jaelyn Ritchie and Mikah Brannon scored three points each.
With the win, the Rebelettes improved to 7-11 on the season.
They will next play Tuesday at home against Warren County High School. Tip-off is scheduled for 6 p.m.
