Hornet golfers notch team win versus Moore County, Cornersville

The Huntland High School boys golf team competed in a match Tuesday at the Bear Trace at Tims Ford against the teams of Moore County and Cornersville.

The Hornet golfers picked up their first team victory of the season with their group score of 208 putting them five strokes ahead of Moore County for the top spot.

Cornersville rounded out the field for the three-team match with a total score of 219 for the day.

Lucas Freeman had the top mark of the day for the Hornets as he ended the match with a score of 48 for the day.

Landon Farmer followed a few strokes behind with a score of 51, and Carson Riley carded a score of 53 to help the cause for the Hornets.

Kamden Smith rounded out the scoring for the Hornets as he completed the course in 56 strokes.

The Hornet golfers will next compete Tuesday in a nine-hole match at the Bear Trace at Tims Ford against the teams of Eagleville High School and Moore County. The match is scheduled to begin at 4 p.m.
