Rebels fall to Knowledge Academy to open Mike Mitchell Classic

The Franklin County Rebels lost to the Knowledge Academy Tigers 58-46 at LEAD Academy Wednesday in their first game for the Mike Mitchell Classic.
The Rebels trailed for the entire contest as the Tigers steadily pulled away from them through the first three quarters with the deficit remaining steady in the final period.
Both teams had their best offensive periods to start the day with the Tigers jumping out to a small early lead over the Rebels.
Franklin County trailed 20-14 after one quarter.
The teams traded points throughout the second quarter with the Rebels falling behind by a few more points before the period ended.
They trailed 33-25 at halftime.
The Tigers pushed the deficit up to double digits for the first time in the third quarter as Franklin County trailed 47-35 going into the final period.
The Rebels weren’t able to make up any ground in the fourth quarter as they lost by 12 points. Kai Baker scored seven of Franklin County’s 11 points in the fourth quarter.
Kenyon Fuqua led the Rebels with 17 points for the game, followed by Baker with 15 points and Aydin Horton and Brandon Walker with four points each.
Jackson Worley, Thomas Clark and Brayden Powers scored two points each.
With the loss, the Rebels moved to 0-3 on the season.
They will next play Friday at LEAD Academy in another game for the Mike Mitchell Classic. Tip-off is scheduled for 4 p.m.
